Welcome to our Collections Online

Discover the Art and Applied Art Collections of Prince Eugen’s Waldemarsudde that comprise some 7,600 objects, most of which are accessible through our online database.

The Art Collection contains around 3,400 works, from plein air painting from the late of 1800s to early Modernism. The focal point of the Collection is on works from ca 1880 to 1947 by Swedish, other Nordic and French artists. Here you will find paintings, drawings, graphic art, sculptures and medals. The collection of Prince Eugen’s own works numbers some 3,200 objects and comprise painting, drawings and graphic art from the 1880s to 1947.

The Applied Art and Design Collection comprises nearly 1,000 items and includes objects made of porphyry, alabaster, marble, silver and glass, as well as furniture, ceramics, illuminants, textiles, clocks and garden furniture and urns. The Collection spans from the 17th century to the mid-20th century and features works from Sweden, the rest of Europe, the United States and Asia. It also features nearly 100 objects designed by Prince Eugen, in the categories of ceramics, furniture, silverware and jewelry. The holdings of decorative arts and design objects at Waldemarsudde are not a “collected collection”, meaning that Prince Eugen did not actively collect these objects; rather, they were acquired for use in his home.
